My name is Tamar, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, just on the Oakland/Berkeley border, with my hubby, Judd, and our 10 year old puppy Taz. This wouldn't be an appropriate introduction if I didn't mention that I am not from California. I'm from Texas. Which will explain any future references I might make to bbq and Texas football, both the Longhorns and the Cowboys just for the record. In addition to my love of water polo, hiking, gardening, cooking, traveling (especially to Paris), and--since it's election year--Obama, I work during the day as an applied anthropologist doing public health research. So (one day) you might find comments here about health inequalities, food and obesity, perceptions of ATOD use, and non-problem approaches to applied public health research…ya know, just to name a few.
